No shocking result in a game in Nur-Sultan where third ranked RussianUNICS (35-8) smashed bottom-ranked Kazakhstan Astana (2-41) 105-65 on Tuesday. UNICS made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. UNICS outrebounded Astana 35-16 including a 12-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. UNICS looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Astana 's players. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Sergey Toropov (205-1989) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Marcos Knight (191-1989, college: MTSU, agency: Slash Sports) who added 18 points during the contest. Four UNICS players scored in double figures. American guard TJ Starks (188-1998, college: CSUN) responded with 23 points and 4 assists and forward Askar Maydekin (203-1997) scored 10 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. UNICS maintains third position with 35-8 record having just three points less than leader Zenit. Astana lost fourth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 41 lost games.
